Recipes from my life

Tiropita in the car in Creta. 2024.

Just short of two months before my father died, he asked Brendan the clerk on his floor to copy and print 50 copies of my grandmothers' cook book. Yes, that’s right, Patsy Benson nee Svoronos nee Farrell born and raised in Musswelbrook.

And although i would have hoped we would have found a way not to fight over it after his passing if he didnt summon Brendan to this task, and to be honest none of us now even know where the original is, it’s no less and will always be a cherished keepsake to mark that time and the memory of growing up a little bit Greek.

Below are three recipes from these memories, including the actually rather delicious Ktipado Stifado from my previous article. And Nanny’s tick of approval.
